Welcome back to school! We can’t wait to continue helping your child learn and grow! Below is important information to help make the start of the school year a success for your child!

Please follow the procedures below to ensure a smooth arrival and dismissal of school.

Please do not enter the main parking lot as this is now a bus loading zone.

Use the church parking lot to park. Parking on the street or making U-turns in a school zone is against the law and may result in a ticket from the police department.

Please be kind and patient with the traffic and at the crosswalks. We want to keep students safe and model respectful treatment of others.

For the first two days of school, families will be allowed to enter the school gates to meet their student’s teacher. Please line up in a single file line by the gates to keep families safe. Review the pictures of the maps below to see where you can enter the school and where your student’s teacher will be located.

If you do not know your child’s teacher’s name, there will be staff members with a list to guide you.

Once you find your child’s teacher, let the teacher know who will be picking up your child after school or how your child will be getting home. Then you will exit the campus.

After the first two days and for the first week only, families in kindergarten and first grade will be allowed to walk their student to the classroom but then must immediately exit the campus. Students in second through fifth grade will not be allowed to enter with families and will walk through the breakfast line and then go directly to the classroom on their own.

Beginning the second week of school, students in kindergarten and first grade will go directly to the teacher’s classroom on their own. Students in grade second through fifth will go through the breakfast line and directly to their classroom. Families will not be allowed on campus. There will be staff members to help your students feel safe and get to their classroom.

At 3:11 PM, the gates will be opened, and families will go to their teacher’s lineup spot and pick up their child.

If you need assistance or have concerns, please go to the main office for assistance but please know there will be many families in line to register. Please be patient and kind as many families will need help. You can also email the principal directly at [email protected]. You will get a response within 24 hours.

Students will be bringing home a packet on the first day. Please return the required forms and reach out to your child’s teacher with any questions.

To be in compliance with the CCSD Student Wellness Regulation, Wynn Elementary will not allow families to bring in food to share with classmates at any time throughout the school year or before or after school. This will ensure students are not provided food choices outside the cafeteria that families may not approve of or that may cause illness due to allergies. We thank you in advance for understanding as we are committed to providing an environment in which students can make healthy food choices.

Please ensure your email address is up to date, so you can easily receive weekly updates from the principal. We also encourage families to join Class Dojo. See your child’s teacher for assistance. Also, look at our website each Monday for updates.

August 13th, Open House: Open House will be on Thursday, August 13th from 4:30-6:30 PM. A flyer was sent home in the back-to-school packet.

August 17th - 20th, iReady Assessment: All students in all grades will be taking the iReady Assessment. Results will help teachers create personalized learning pathways for all students.

August 17th - August 21st, School Spirit Dress Up Days: Encourage your child to show their school spirit. A flyer with more information will be sent home on Friday, August 14th.

August 26th, School Organization Team Meeting: There will be an SOT meeting at 5:00 PM held virtually. The agenda will be posted a week in advance on the school’s website.

August 27th, Family Workshop, Be a Student for a Day: Come learn more about what your child learns throughout the day and how you can support! The workshop will be from 4:00-5:00 PM at Wynn ES.

September 7th, Labor Day: There will be no school on Monday, September 7th due to the Labor Day Holiday.

September 8th, Fall Pictures: A flyer will be sent home with information about purchasing fall pictures.

September 21st, Staff Development Day: There will be no school on Monday, September 21st due to Staff Development Day.

Si no conoce el nombre del maestro o maestra de su hijo(a), habrá personal con una lista para orientarse.

Una vez que encuentre al maestro o maestra, infórmese quién recogerá a su hijo(a) al terminar las clases o cómo regresará a casa. Después, deberá salir del recinto escolar.

Tras los dos primeros días, y solo durante la primera semana, se permitirá a las familias de los alumnos de kínder y primer grado acompañar a sus hijos hasta el aula, pero deberán salir inmediatamente del recinto escolar después de hacerlo. Del 17 al 21 de agosto, Días de Espíritu Escolar (vestimenta temática): Anime a su hijo a mostrar su espíritu escolar. El viernes 14 de agosto se enviará a casa un folleto con más información.

26 de agosto, Reunión del Equipo de Organización Escolar (SOT): Se llevará a cabo una reunión del SOT de manera virtual a las 5:00 PM. La agenda se publicará con una semana de antelación en el sitio web de la escuela.

27 de agosto, Taller para familias: "Sea estudiante por un día": ¡Venga a conocer más sobre lo que su hijo aprende durante el día escolar y cómo puede apoyarlo! El taller se realizará de 4:00 a 5:00 PM en la escuela Wynn ES.

7 de septiembre, Día del Trabajo (Labor Day): No habrá clases el lunes 7 de septiembre debido a la festividad del Día del Trabajo.
