We are thrilled to have your children start another school year of learning and fun! Please review the following information carefully:

Welcome back to school! Please follow the procedures below to ensure a smooth arrival and dismissal of school.

Use the church parking lot to park. Parking on the street or making U-turns in a school zone is against the law and may result in a ticket from the police department.

Please be kind and patient with the traffic and at the crosswalks. We want to keep students safe and model respectful treatment of others.

For the first two days of school, families will be allowed to enter the school gates to meet their student’s teacher. Please line up in a single file line by the gates to keep families safe. Review the pictures of the maps below to see where you can enter the school and where your student’s teacher will be located.

If you do not know your child’s teacher’s name, there will be staff members with a list to guide you.

Once you find your child’s teacher, let the teacher know who will be picking up your child after school. Then you will exit the campus.

After the first two days and for the first week only, families in kindergarten and first grade will be allowed to walk their student to the classroom but then must immediately exit the campus. Students in second through fifth grade will not be allowed to enter with families and will walk through the breakfast line and then go directly to the classroom on their own.

Beginning the second week of school, students in kindergarten and first grade will go directly to the teacher’s classroom on their own. Students in grade second through fifth will go through the breakfast line and directly to their classroom. Families will not be allowed on campus. There will be staff members to help your students feel safe and get to their classroom.

At 3:11 PM, the gates will be opened, and families will go to their teacher’s lineup spot and pick up their child.

If you need assistance or have concerns, please go to the main office for assistance but please know there will be many families in line to register. Please be patient and kind as many families will need help. You can also email the principal directly at [email protected]. You will get a response within 24 hours.

Students will be bringing home a packet on the first day. Please return the required forms and reach out to your child’s teacher with any questions.

To be in compliance with the CCSD Student Wellness Regulation, Wynn Elementary will not allow families to bring in food to share with classmates at any time throughout the school year or before or after school. This will ensure students are not provided food choices outside the cafeteria that families may not approve of or that may cause illness due to allergies. We thank you in advance for understanding as we are committed to providing an environment in which students can make healthy food choices.

Please ensure your email address is up to date, so you can easily receive weekly updates from the principal. We also encourage families to join Class Dojo. See your child’s teacher for assistance. Also, look at our website each Monday for updates.

Mark your calendars for the following upcoming dates:

August 13th - 15th, MAP Assessment: All students in all grades will be taking the MAP Assessment. Results will help teachers create personalized learning pathways for all students.

August 15th, Food Pantry: There will be a Food Pantry in the Wynn ES parking lot beginning at 9:15 AM while supplies last.

August 21st, Open House: Open House will be on Thursday, August 21st from 4:30 - 6:30 PM. Flyers with more information will be sent home.

August 29th, Pastries with the Principal: There will be a workshop for parents or guardians on Friday, August 29th in the Wynn ES MPR. A flyer will be sent home with information.

September 1st, Labor Day: There will be no school on Monday, September 1st due to the Labor Day Holiday.

September 8th, Fall Pictures: A flyer will be sent home with information about purchasing fall pictures.

Si no sabe el nombre del maestro de su hijo, habrá miembros del personal con una lista para guiarlo.

Una vez que encuentre al maestro de su hijo, infórmele quién lo recogerá después de la escuela. Luego, saldrá del campus.

Después de los dos primeros días y solo durante la primera semana, las familias de kínder y primer grado podrán acompañar a sus hijos al aula, pero deberán salir inmediatamente del campus. Los estudiantes de segundo a quinto grado no podrán entrar con sus familias y deberán pasar por la fila del desayuno para luego ir directamente al aula por su cuenta.

15 de agosto, Despensa de Alimentos: Habrá una despensa de alimentos en el estacionamiento de la Escuela Primaria Wynn a partir de las 9:15 a.m., hasta agotar existencias.

21 de agosto, Jornada de Puertas Abiertas: La jornada de puertas abiertas será el jueves 21 de agosto de 4:30 p.m. a 6:30 p.m. Se enviarán volantes con más información a casa.

29 de agosto, Pasteles con el Director: Habrá un taller para padres o tutores el viernes 29 de agosto en el salón multiusos de la Escuela Primaria Wynn. Se enviará un volante a casa con información.

1 de septiembre, Día del Trabajo: No habrá clases el lunes 1 de septiembre debido al feriado del Día del Trabajo.

8 de septiembre, Fotos de Otoño: Se enviará un volante a casa con información sobre la compra de fotos de otoño.
